My work reflects my attention to detail. I truly enjoy creating art pieces and working tirelessly on one section to get it just right. However, it can be frustrated, and I can get irritated if something doesn’t look how I think it should look. But also, my art reflects a huge part of my personality and my interests, and I never want to stop creating work.
My most prevalent style and media is through realistic, large, black and white drawings. These are my favorite to draw and I use reference photos for outlines and basic shading, then I like to shade in minor details out of my imagination in order to make it my own. I also have painted with oil and acrylic paints but I need to refine my skills there. The reason I draw is because I feel like there are things that can be said through an image that words literally cannot describe, and that is the meaning that I attempt to convey, almost always through my poses and the eyes that I draw. My dad had always been good at drawing so I learned to draw through his techniques and by observing his work. He has the eye for composition and proportion and so naturally I do too. And his works are drawings and he blends old master techniques with modern methods in order to create drawings that are very realistic and intriguing through both their compositions and the craftsmanship of the works. |
